Rheinhessen is the largest wine-producing region in Germany with more than 25,000 hectares of land dedicated to the production of wine. White wine constitutes the majority of the varieties grown with Riesling being the most planted variety. Rheinhessen has luscious landscapes, which one can experience by hiking the wild trails, biking along the river, or taking a guided tour through beautiful gardens. On the left bank of the Rhine River, at the entrance of every village, there is a sign informing visitors if the village is a part of the Rheinhessen wine region and what is the main grape grown in the area. Visit and bring your Hat!
